This week’s wedding inspiration is stripes. Bow ties, straws and table linens are some of the most popular ways to incorporate stripes into an event, but you can’t go wrong with subtle (or not so subtle) striped details!
Stripes are quirky and fun, let us know if you’ve used them on your big day!

Burlap is an easy to use material, that looks great and is perfect for the eco-friendly or DIY bride! There are many different ways to incorporate burlap into your chic, DIY wedding.
Making your own table runners out of burlap is an easy way to escape extra costs and is simple to do! It also looks great with almost any tablescape and color.
Another simple way to add burlap is to use pieces as napkins at the reception. As pictured below, you can also use twine or another colored string to finish of this arrangement.
The last simple way to incorporate burlap into your reception is to make signs like the one pictured below. This is extremely cost efficient and cute! The Butterflyabove shop on Etsy has these “Celebrate” signs already available! Enjoy!

In the past I had never really thought much about using burlap for decorating or anything for that matter, but more recently burlap has been popping up all over the wedding scene. After seeing so many different pictures, I have fallen in love with the rustic chic burlap idea. I have put together an inspiration board with ideas on how to dress it up to your desired look.
And if you are the DIY type, here are the directions to make your own burlap table runners from Style Me Pretty.
One bolt of 54-inch wide burlap (you can use less, but 21 runners took the full bolt)
Teal Blue Thread
1. Cut fabric in lengths of 14 feet, two inches.
2. Cut in half lengthwise so that each strip is 27 inches wide
3. Turn the ends and sides under one inch and hem
4. Stitch with a zig zag stitch (my mom used the largest zig zag, about a quarter of an inch) on her machine and chose satin thread)
5. Iron flat

I really love to see how couples make their wedding day extra special by incorporating small details that really catch one’s attention. Today, I wanted to show the wonderful floral and design details from a recent wedding we had at Aristide Event Center. They had Calla Lillies wrapped in blue with jewels, exceptional floral displays, and bright pops of color. One of my favorite things about a wedding is seeing what ideas a couple has and loves to include on their big day. Enjoy! A big thanks goes out to Rebekah for capturing such wonderful photos!

After a spectacular wedding, you want to leave with just as much excitement as you did when you entered. Sure, you can leave your wedding in a plush limo with a bottle of champagne or leave the reception in your own car (yawn!), but what’s the creativity in that? Here are some splendid ideas to make a grand departure to keep the excitement going and give you even more great pictures.
1. Ride In Style: Instead of leaving in an average everyday car or limo, take off in a vintage Rolls Royce if your style is class, or a pickup trick if you’re style is casual, free-spirited types. Dress it up with a custom banner
2. Create a ripple effect: if your reception is near the water, consider departing in a motorboat or canoe. Guests can watch from the dock.
3. Bicycle built for two: This is such an adorable, cost effective idea that would be great for photo memories. And, even better, you can help out the environment by not polluting it with fumes.
4. Carriage: Hello Cinderella. This would be such a fairy-tale ending to such a special day. So romantic.
5. Trolley: Want an old-fashioned San Fransisco feel? Jump onto a trolley! It’s a picture-perfect, fun way to end the night.
6. Vespa: Stylish, Speedy, and such a rush. This small motor scooter would make for one-of-a-kind wedding photographs.
