Friday Favorites: Burlap Brilliance

In the past I had never really thought much about using burlap for decorating or anything for that matter, but more recently burlap has been popping up all over the wedding scene. After seeing so many different pictures, I have fallen in love with the rustic chic burlap idea. I have put together an inspiration board with ideas on how to dress it up to your desired look.

And if you are the DIY type, here are the directions to make your own burlap table runners from Style Me Pretty.

Materials

One bolt of 54-inch wide burlap (you can use less, but 21 runners took the full bolt)
Teal Blue Thread

Directions

1. Cut fabric in lengths of 14 feet, two inches.

2. Cut in half lengthwise so that each strip is 27 inches wide

3. Turn the ends and sides under one inch and hem

4. Stitch with a zig zag stitch (my mom used the largest zig zag, about a quarter of an inch) on her machine and chose satin thread)

5. Iron flat

Steve & Gina’s Summer Wedding

On June 18, 2011, friends and family dressed to the nines made their way to Aristide Event Center to witness Gina and Steve unite in marriage. They said their “I dos” among 180 of their friends and family. While their guests mingled inside with cocktails in hand, the newly-named Mr. and Mrs. Ullrich joined by their parties went outside to take pictures. The reception was officially kicked off with the bride and groom’s first dance to the song “Come Rain or Shine” by Frank Sinatra. The guests enjoyed themselves for a full night of dining and dancing, a wish easily met with an superb menu of pecan crusten chicken, top round au jaus, and a hosted bar. At the end of the evening, well wishers made their way outside for the couple’s grand exit. Lighting their sparklers and getting their Bicylcle bells ready, the crowd cheered at the newlywed promenaded out ready to start their new life together.

For The Love Of Flowers

Friday Favorites

I really love to see how couples make their wedding day extra special by incorporating small details that really catch one’s attention. Today, I wanted to show the wonderful floral and design details from a recent wedding we had at Aristide Event Center. They had Calla Lillies wrapped in blue with jewels, exceptional floral displays, and bright pops of color. One of my favorite things about a wedding is seeing what ideas a couple has and loves to include on their big day. Enjoy! A big thanks goes out to Rebekah for capturing such wonderful photos!
